Xicon was founded in 1991 by Simon Heyes an established IT consultant specialising in Oracle.

Xicon's business throughout the 1990's focused on Oracle bespoke development, database support and training services and still retains support contracts with customers from that time.

In the early 2000's, Xicon added Microsoft development and database support services, moving out of the training business as online training came to the fore. Xicon's managed service business was developed further adding a raft of new support contracts particularly around Microsoft technologies.

By 2005, Xicon had outsourced the majority of its development function offshore, retaining only a core team of experienced project managers and architects. The demand for bespoke development capability had been replaced by a demand for infrastructure projects particularly around server and storage virtualisation. Partnerships with several leading IT vendors followed.

Xicon's latest development has been the extension of support services to including the provision of private cloud services for our customers.

The Xicon board is made up of Simon Heyes, Sue Heyes (Finance Director and qualified solicitor) and Paul Lonsdale who joined the company in 1998. Xicon is privately owned by the directors.
