  • AssiDoman

    AssiDoman Packaging UK Limited was part of the Swedish forest products and packaging group AssiDoman AB. Now the corrugated and Containerboard divison forms part of Kappa Packaging.

    Xicon provided a wide range of technical services predominantly in and around the administration of the Oracle database and development technologies as well as developing a number of bespoke applictions.

    Application Development

    Business Express is now part of HDNL, the UK's largest dedicated home delivery and collection service delivering 300,000 parcels and large consignments in every postcode, every day.

    Xicon developed a bespoke application to allow customers and employees to track parcel deliveries via a web browser facility a reduction in call centre staff. The solution utilised HDNL's existing investment in the Oracle database and associated development technologies.

    Cheshire West and Chester Council bring a fresh and energetic approach to providing top quality services for its many customers and communities.

    Xicon provided the storage to underpin a Private Cloud solution for the Council based on the EqualLogic storage platform. The solution has been so successful that the council now has one of the largest EqualLogic based private storage Clouds in the UK.

    The Coventry have been in business since 1884 and are now the 3rd largest building society in the UK, with branches up and down the country, over 1.5 million members and assets of over £21 billion.

    Xicon developed a bespoke application, leveraging workflow within the Oracle database, to speed up the processing of mortgage applications whilst implementing a 'single sign on' solution to secure the environment with a single username and password.

    Xicon implemented a Private Cloud solution for the Cumberland based on Dell's servers and EqualLogic storage platform and VMware's virtualisation software. This project addressed the Cumberland's requirement for a more cost efficient IT infrastructure platform, with greater resilience, reduced maintenance/support costs, and the flexibility to react to changes in their market more quickly.

    Wales & West Housing Association (WWHA) provide homes and services to more than 25,000 people in Wales. The Association works in 15 local authority areas and manages more than 9,000 properties.

    WWHA and  Xicon worked together to implement a  Private Cloud solution, based on Dell's servers and EqualLogic storage platforms and VMware's virtualisation software, at WWHA’s data centre. This project achieved WWHA's requirement for a more  flexible, resilient,  energy efficient IT infrastructure platform which would enable them to quickly react to changes in their market.

    Since implementation, WWHA have continued to partner with Xicon, with both WWHA’s internal staff and Xicon’s specialists supporting WWHA’s Cloud.
