Project Manager Vacancy

Due to our continued success, Xicon is looking for a technically accomplished Project Manager to work on a range of infrastructure, managed service and software development projects. The role will involve the successful and controlled management of technical projects in Xicon's accounts. Typical infrastructure projects include server hardware refreshes, server virtualisation and SAN storage implementation. Typical managed service projects are where the client has outsourced their database management to Xicon. Typical software development projects include bespoke as well as support and enhancements to existing Xicon software applications.

The Project Manager must be experienced in pre-sales and have a confident and positive personality. A can-do attitude is also vital with a willingness to get their sleeves rolled up, write and contribute to proposals, present and where necessary perform business and functional analysis to allow the development of a plan and associated costs.

Project teams may be made up of Xicon staff, client staff, UK contractors and off-shore resource, or any combination of the above. A willingness to travel and make things happen is also vital.

The Project Manager will deal directly with Xicon's accounts, as well as third party vendors and will have a high profile with the Xicon directors. The candidate must have a broad understanding of infrastructure implementation projects and the software development lifecycle and will possess a Prince 2 or similar certification.

A valid UK driving licence is vital and although Xicon has a flexible working model, candidates who live within reasonable commuting distance to Warrington are preferred.
